Miles for Meaning

The ALS Society of BC is one of the participating teams for Miles for Meaning organized by Kilter.  It is a free 31-day challenge to make your miles help the society win the $25,000 donation prize for the most logged miles.   The challenge is from March 1 to 31st  2021.

Besides the $25,000 grand prize, the first 50 charities to raise $1,000 will then receive a $1,000 matching donation and $5,000 worth of additional prizes throughout the month.   Individual prizes will also be given away.

How to support:

  3. Share the information with friends and select ALS BC as the Team

How to register:

  1. Free registration
  2. Download the Kilter App (iOS/Android) on your phone (not website)
  3. Choose only qualified activities – running, jogging, walking, hiking, rucking, and rolling .  There will be no points for other activities.
  4. Create your account, complete your profile, and connect your devices
  5. Please skip the question asking for EIN Number
  6. Visit EVENTS (bottom left) and locate the Miles for Meaning campaign in EXPLORE.
  7. Click join and search for our Team: ALS BC.
  8. How to track activities.  Check and make sure your mileage is counted.

About Donations:

  1. Donation links for the events will be available starting March 1, 2021, at 12:01 AM.
  2. Note that on-line donations are processed in US$ as Kilter is a US-based company.
  3. You can also mail a cheque to the Society and indicate the name of the participant or Miles for Meaning if you do not have a specific participant to support.
  4. All donations (in gross revenue) will be sent to the ALS Society of BC on April 7, 2021.
  5. The ALS Society of BC will issue all donation tax receipts after the event.
  6. All donations will be allocated to the ALS Society of BC Project Hope.
