Louise Gauthier
I became involved with the ALS Society of BC in 2018 after loosing my Mum (Linda) to the disease. I witnessed first hand the value of what ALS BC does to help those living with ALS. I feel great joy in Co-Coordinate the Kelowna Move To Cure ALS. The Event isn’t about one day – it’s about bringing community together to fundraise for the year ahead and build friendships with others. In 2021 we were awarded the ‘Walk of the Year’, which I am humbled to receive. In 2020 I felt the need to support my community more closely be becoming involved with the Kelowna and Area Support Group for those living with ALS, which I now Co-Facilitate. I feel privileged to work on behalf of the ALS Community as a member of the Board of Directors. Through my knowledge as a caregiver, I feel I can offer insight as a member of the Patient Services Committee. I work for a Canadian Denim Apparel Brand as a District Manager Area Lead supervising BC & YT. I am the Corporate Wish Ambassador for the charity Make-A-Wish Canada. I was born in England and immigrated to Canada with my parents at age eight. I am grateful to call BC home and love exploring our beautiful province. I live in West Kelowna with my wonderful husband and Calico Cat – Gewürztraminer. I am passionate to ensure those living with ALS have the best quality of life and have equal access to care and treatment. I am committed to bringing PROJECT HOPE to fruition and making ALS treatable.
