I retired from Western Forest Products after 28 years as manager of the Western Red Cedar division overseeing sales in excess of $200 million per year. During my years in the business I was on the board, and ultimately held the position of President for 2 years at the Western Red Cedar Association. I have stayed in touch with work associates in the business. Several along with family have donated to our fund raisers. I love cycling, which lead me to be part of the WFP cycling team. Over 7 years we road in the “RIDE TO CONQUER CANCER” fund raising event and our team raised $500,000+ over that period.  My life changed July 2018 when I was diagnosed with ALS. Not knowing anything about the disease my family and myself aggressively researched all we could, learning it is a very relentless disease, requiring multiple treatments. I have made many friends in ALS community over the past 3 years. Raising funds for the society is very important as some of these friends require equipment to get through each day which the society supplies. As well the “PROJECT HOPE” is very exciting to me, as an ALS patient I understand the reason for having a new updated ALS clinic, as well providing hope through opportunity in trials to find treatments that can help the fight against ALS.
