Erin Sowerby Greene

Erin Sowerby Greene was born and raised in Aldergrove, BC and relocated to Nanaimo in 2018 where she now lives with her two dogs, cat, horse and husband. She is a graduate of UBC and BCIT and works in the field of natural resources. She enjoys camping, kayaking, trail running and hiking and volunteers with Search & Rescue, the BC SPCA and Girl Guides of Canada.  Erin first learned about ALS when her grandmother, Ida Greene, was diagnosed in 2012. Ever since then she has been raising funds and awareness for the ALS Society of BC. Following her passing in 2014, Erin has run, walked and fundraised in her nana’s memory in the BMO half and full marathons and helped coordinate the 2019 and 2020 Mid Island Walk to End ALS. Erin hopes to continue to raise awareness about ALS, help the ALS Society of BC provide support for those affected by the disease and ultimately find a cure.
