Strategic Plan

January 2019 – December 2023

Updated February 2 , 2022

The ALS Society of British Columbia is dedicated to providing direct support to ALS patients, along with their families and caregivers, to ensure the best quality of life possible while living with ALS. By funding research, we are committed to finding the cause of and cure for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).

Vision – Long Term Goal – Aspiration

End ALS through the creation of a world-class ALS Centre at the University of British Columbia

Unsurpassed Service: We are dedicated to improving the quality of life for our patients, their caregivers, and their families.

Teamwork: Our success is built on a team of dedicated staff and volunteers (TEAM ALS BC & Yukon) working for a common purpose.

Quality of Life: Our goal is to continually improve the services needed to improve the quality of life of those living with ALS and to fund research through PROJECT HOPE.

Equality of Care: Everyone living with ALS has a right to equal care, no matter where they live in British Columbia.

Dream Big: We push the envelope constantly to improve on what we can do to achieve results.

Goal A:

To expand and foster the clinical research currently underway in BC, build capacity to host clinical trials as they become available, and enhance the physical environment of the ALS Centre.

Goal B:

Continue to monitor services provided by ALS BC, in particular in rural areas that are underserviced, determine how to improve services, implement approved changes.

Goal C:

Develop and implement a plan to ensure the continuity of the ALS Society.
