Gianpierro’s inspiration to give back to the individuals and families living with ALS comes from being personally impacted by the disease. As a five-year-old, Gianpierro witnessed his father live with ALS for seven years until his passing in 2006, leaving a profound legacy of inspiration within the community.

Erin Sowerby Greene
Director at large and Move to Cure ALS Coordinator
Erin Sowerby Greene was born and raised in Aldergrove, BC and relocated to Nanaimo in 2018 where she now lives with her two dogs, cat, horse and husband. She is a graduate of UBC and BCIT and works in the field of natural resources.

Shirley Theriault
Secretary and Support Group Facilitator
Shirley’s involvement with ALS is personal; she has ALS in her family. She has also attended numerous Walks and is in charge of the silent auction at these Walks. She enjoys knitting, walking, swimming, reading, jigsaw puzzles, and hiking.

Murray Chantler
Director at Large
Murray’s life has been driven by three main interests: a deep love of and connection with the natural world, a passion to be creative, and a desire to change the world for the better. These tenets led him to start volunteering as a teenager in support of environmental issues; to paint landscapes in oil as a young man and morph into a finishing carpenter and craftsman working with wood; to grow food organically for fifty years (and counting), and to volunteer continuously in his community throughout his adult life.

Christina Brown

Christina has also been very active in support of the ALS Society of BC; her efforts to reach out to new ALS patients and their families are exemplary! She loves meeting new people and offering her guidance and experience as a way of attempting to soften the blow of a diagnosis of ALS.
